About this project

Trexico Logistics has started its journey as a company by transporting goods to and from Russia. A few years ago, the strategic decision was made to expand their range of services to become an all-round logistics service provider. Their warehouses now store various types of goods such as raw materials for the food/feed industry, plastic products, fashion, beauty products, and much more. In addition, they have their own customs department with a customs storage and an e-fulfilment center, allowing Trexico to serve a wide variety of clients.

Project

Over time, Trexico Logistics had acquired a total of eight different warehouses. Operational Director Harm Blaauwgeers explains: “At a certain point, it became too difficult to manage all of these separate warehouses. We decided to say goodbye to these smaller warehouses and move to one large warehouse in Gilze.”

The new warehouse in Gilze has a floor area of no less than 17,000 m². “We wanted to use this space as efficiently as possible,” says Harm. “We couldn’t store everything on the floor alone. That’s why we had to go vertical.” To achieve this, they contacted Nimar Storage Solutions. Besides supplying conventional pallet racks, they also provided advice and guidance throughout the process.

Harm says: “When we needed to purchase racks, the market was overwrought, and the services of other companies were extremely overpriced. Nimar Storage Solutions was able to deliver quickly and had the materials we needed in stock. In addition, they offered a very competitive price and were willing to work with us from the very beginning.”

Collaboration

It was important for Trexico Logistics to be able to use their warehouse space efficiently. “They provided good advice on the layout of our space. We work with raw materials that are larger and heavier than other materials. If you put them in a large area, it’s a waste of space,” says Harm. “In consultation with the staff at Nimar Storage Solutions, we therefore chose a lower configuration with a lower shelf height so that we could store more and be more flexible in our storage.”

Trexico now has two different heights for shelves so that they can store as much as possible in various configurations. Trexico Logistics had a contact person at Nimar Storage Solutions with whom they could discuss things in detail. “This contact person frequently came by with detailed drawings in a large format. We were able to discuss our wishes with him and made some adjustments together so the racks would meet our exact requirements,” explains Harm. “The communication with Nimar Storage Solutions was perfect. They kept all of their promises and met the deadline despite it being a very time-consuming project.”
